JOSEPH PERAGINE
Joseph Peragine’s painting, sculpture and animation have been presented in art venues and
film festivals throughout the country. In 2001, he traveled to Beijing to
exhibit work and participate in an international symposium on art and
science hosted by Tsing Hua University and the National Gallery of Art of
China. Also 2001, the City of Atlanta commissioned a permanent
installation for Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. Brute Neighbors
(2001), received the 2002 Atlanta Urban Design Commission Award for
Excellence in Public Art.

In 2003, “Three Small Deaths” (2002) won the Juror Choice Award at the
Seventh Annual ASU Art Museum Short Film Festival in Tempe, Arizona. It
was also an official selection at the 2003 Atlanta Film Festival. In 2004,
animation and sculpture were featured at the Palm Beach Institute of
Contemporary Art’s media lounge. “Hell on Wheels”, a body of work produced
in 2004-2006 has been widely shown throughout the region in solo exhibits
at Solomon Projects in Atlanta and the Cheekwood Museum of art in Nashville
and several group exhibits, including “Run For Your Lives” at DiverseWorks
in Houston.
